FAQs

How many people can be photographed at once?

Due to the nature of this process and the lens being used, we can fit a maximum of 2 people in a 4”x5” & 5”x7” tintype and 4 people in an 8”x10” tintype!

can my child/ren be in the tintype?

This is going to be your call! Your child/children will have to keep still for roughly 10-15 seconds. Due to the nature of this photographic process, it is very difficult to get subjects in focus that cannot keep still.

can i bring my pet?

If you can hold your pet, then yes! At the moment I am unable to accommodate larger pets due to the size of the studio. If you have any questions about bringing your pet with you to the studio please reach out!

how much of my body will be in the tintype?

All tintypes are taken from the waste up. If you have a special request, or need to be seated for whatever reason, add that information in “Additional info” when checking out!

when will i receive my tintype?

For pop up events-  Typically 1 week after it is shot. All tintypes need to be washed, dried, scanned, and varnished. After they get varnished I will drop them back off wherever the event took place for pick up. I'll make an announcement on social media when they are ready!

for studio sessions- We will have your tintypes ready for pickup within 48 hours! If you are just blowing in from out of town, we can mail it to you for an additional $5!

can i get a digital scan of my tintype??

Absolutely! High res scans are $25. If you are getting your tintype done at a pop-up event, just ask me at the time of your portrait.

for studio sessions, this is an optional add on at the time of checkout.

how much does a portrait cost?

We currently are offering 3 sizes

4”x5” - $80

5”x7”- $100

8”x10” - $160

can i buy a gift certificate?

yes! they make for an incredibly unique gift! gift cards available here

can i wear glasses?

this is going to be your call! uv coating and blue light protection will cause your lenses to be dark. Sometimes people like this look, but if you want to see your eyes I would recommend either wearing completely uncoated glasses/removing your glasses, OR if you have an old pair of glasses laying around remove the lenses and just wear the frames.

what should I wear?

You can pretty much wear whatever you want! Anything textured or patterned looks pretty cool with this process.
